BuildByJai is operated by Jawad Akhtar, trading as BuildByJai, based in the United Kingdom. We build and host free online tools and offer custom interactive tool development for businesses and agencies.

What data we collect and why
Email address and name (newsletter)
When you subscribe to our newsletter via the signup form on the site, your name and email address are passed to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email marketing platform. We use this to send you occasional emails about new tools, site updates, and relevant content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Enquiry form submissions
When you submit the "Build a Tool" contact form, we collect your name, email address, website URL (optional), and the message you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not added to any marketing list without your separate consent.
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymised usage data including pages visited, time on site, device type, and approximate location (country/city level). Google Analytics uses cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Consent — for newsletter subscriptions and marketing communications. You provide this when you subscribe.
- Legitimate interests — for analytics that help us improve the site, and for responding to enquiries you initiate.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Data retention
Newsletter subscriber data is held in Kit for as long as you remain subscribed. Enquiry form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your request. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings (up to 26 months).
We do not sell your data
Your personal data is never sold to third parties. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from emails)
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
